Members of the Red River Valley’s congressional delegation will visit Fargo-Moorhead on Friday to tour flood preparation efforts and discuss plans for long-term flood prevention.

A spring flood outlook released Thursday by the National Weather Service lists a 50-50 chance the Red River will rise above 38.5 feet at Fargo and 51.1 feet at Grand Forks.

Sens. Amy Klobuchar and John Hoeven and Rep. Collin Peterson first will visit Moorhead to meet with the Red River Retention Authority and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to discuss plans to improve the valley’s water retention as one part of an overall water management effort.
